Write to your mayor to demand rent controls now!

Private rents have spiralled out of control, with a huge impact on people’s health, wellbeing, and their ability to live a good life. In England private rents have risen by 28% over the last five years, this has meant people being pushed out of their homes or forced to accept poor and dangerous living conditions.

There’s no doubt we’re in a crisis where the only immediate solution is rent controls. That’s why we’re asking for mayors to be given new regional powers to implement them, and for Mayors to loudly back our campaign.

We want mayors to come together and put pressure on the government to give them powers over rent controls in the upcoming English Devolution Bill. But we need your help to show mayors this is what people in their local areas want.

We’re asking people to take a few minutes to write to their mayor to express their support for rent controls and to ask for mayors to join the campaign for rent controls.
